Ballroom Dancing at the Belvedere

Buffet from 6:00 - 8:30 (Initially there is dancing to recorded and live music by Helmut)

2 Beginner's Dance lessons by Helmut Licht from 7:30 - 8:30

Live ballroom dancing music by Helmut Licht from 8:30 - 9:30

Admission $ 17.00

($ 20.00 on announced Special Nights)

Admission includes:

The buffet

Soft drinks

2 half-hour beginners lessons and general dancing.

Beer and Wine can be purchased.

Singles are VERY welcome.

Helmut encourages his students to change partners frequently as the lessons progress.

So, you might be a stranger when you first get there, but people will know you and will

have already been dancing with you by the time general dancing begins!

A typical evening at the Belvedere goes like this:

There are two magnificent Ballrooms on the 12th floor of the Belvedere.

The buffet is located between the two ballrooms.

You can eat and dance to taped music in the front ballroom beginning at 6:00.

Helmut teaches one advanced step in a dance of his choice for advanced dancers from 7:15 - 7:30.

The two beginners lessons are taught in the rear ballroom from 7:30 - 8:30

After the lessons Helmut plays live music in the front ballroom.

The music he plays is piped to the rear ballroom, ergo, you have a choice as to where you want to dance!

Here is a list of dances as they will be taught on Wednesday night

Note: My main objective on Wednesday is to 'get people into ballroom dancing' and to show

them how easy and how much fun it is. Therefore, all steps taught are beginners level. I rotate

through the twelve basic dances once every 6 weeks and then repeat the cycle with one or two

different patterns, still beginners level. It doesn't matter when or where you enter the cycles - the

less you know, the better (no bad habits to break). I ALWAYS teach the basic step first!!

From 7:15 until 7:30 I teach one advanced step in a dance of my choice for advanced dancers.

Beginners are invited to watch but should complete my 7:30 classses in all the dances before participating.
